Padi assistant instructor (AI)As a PADI Assistant Instructor, you will gain experience as a PADI professional, enabling you to act as an instructional assistant with actual teaching responsibilities. The course is the first step into gaining experience, which leads you into the Padi Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Course.
The Assistant Instructor portion is the 1st component ofthe PADI Instructor Development Course and builds upon Divemaster training. The AssistantInstructor course is a 4-day program that introduces you to the role of an instructionalassistant, both in academic teaching and in confined & open water training. As an AssistantInstructor you immediately improve your employability within the dive industry and increaseyour earnings potential. What can PADI Assistant Instructors do?•Present the academic elaboration for any PADI Diver course, present initial skills training in confined water and evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills all under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor•Teach PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy•Teach Project AWARE Specialty Course•Teach AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialty Course•Independently Conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving•Independently Conduct PADI Seal Team Aquamissions
Course Prerequisites •PADI Divemaster or qualifying certification from another training organization•Been a certified diver for at least 6 months•PADI diver’s medical signed by a physician within the last 12 months•Minimum 60 logged dives•EFR Primary and Secondary Care (or equivalent) within 24 months•proof of experience in night, deep and navigation diving•Pre-study course manuals and dive theory•Have good personal diving and buoyancy skillsMinimum age18 years
